KFC worker suspended after 'putting pubic hair in customer's meal because she was told to smile more'

Fastfood giant KFC has suspended a member of staff over claims a customer order was laced with pubic hair. 

An anonymous message on the Facebook site 'Spotted Cardiff' suggested a worker at the restaurant in Gabalfa, Cardiff, had placed the hair on an order in an apparent revenge attack for rudeness.

The post claims a group of girls who apparently told a worker she 'needed to smile more' were the victims of the alleged prank.

The message suggests the co-worker carried out the alleged act after taking umbrage with the way the drive-thru customers had spoken to their colleague during the 'altercation'. 

The post said: 'Karmas a **** girls, hope you enjoyed your food I made for you after overhearing the way you spoke to my girl on the head set be picking pubes out your teeth for a week' (sic).

A spokesman for KFC said a worker had been suspended over the post, but she said the chain did not believe any food had been contaminated.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are finally married!

The couple tied the knot in an over-the-top ceremony at Florence’s 16th-century Forte di Belvedere on Saturday, May 24. The New York Daily News reports that the couple officially said “I do” around 6 p.m.

The outdoor ceremony was held against a backdrop of multiple walls of flowers, andguests included the Kardashian-Jenner family, Brittny Gastineau, Lala Anthony, Jonathan Cheban, Blac Chyna, Tyga, and Jaden Smith, among others.

According to People magazine, Andrea Bocelli sang as Kardashian was walked down the aisle by step-father Bruce Jenner, and the ceremony was performed by Rich Wilkerson Jr., a pastor from North Miami.

Of course, the couple’s entire wedding weekend has been beyond over-the-top. Nigerian Military Aircraft Bombs Boko Haram Camps In Borno Forests

As the war against the Boko Haram by the  Federal Government intensifies, the Nigerian military has reportedly bombed the sect’s camps located in parts of Bauchi State, local and security sources have disclosed.

As early as 6:00a.m., locals said they heard loud sounds of explosives coming from the forest where insurgents’ camps were reportedly located.

It has been reported that  sizeable numbers of gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect have been operating in the Balmo forests in Darazo,  Burra in Ningi, Soro in Ganjuwa and Yugda forests between Zara-Miya, while another camp is believed to exist around the Bauchi-Gombe boundary in Alkaleri.

Some of the locals in the forest communities, who pleaded anonymity for security reasons, said the vibration shook their houses to their very foundation, adding that shortly after the explosive sounds were heard, they saw military aircraft bearing Nigerian flags hovering in the area.

A reliable security source in the state confirmed that the army has started operation in the forest but did not give details of the development, adding that the exercise was carried out without creating panic among the inhabitants of the forests

Why Chibok Schoolgirls Don’t Speak English

Many members of the Nigerian public have been vocal in expressing their concerned over the abducted Borno girls’who do not communicate in English during their press interviews. They mostly spoke in Hausa. Over 95 per cent of students in public schools in the State cannot express themselves in English, although, their written English is reportedly better.

Some reasons were adduced for the situation, the major one being the poor standard of education and the quality of teachers in public schools across the state. Teaching Service Board officials tend to favour their kinsmen over qualified applicants.

Most teachers in the rural areas and the students prefer speaking their own dialect either in the classrooms or during school hours, making English language secondary.
Governor Kashim Shettima admitted in an interview that, “In 2011 WAEC examinations, only three students at one of the government secondary schools in Northern Borno Senatorial District had five credits, including mathematics and English language. The Three students were not from the State as their fathers were serving soldiers at Monguno Military Barracks”.

Four abducted students were reunited with their families in Chibok, Nigeria, last month. 

The Chibok girls reflected the quality of teachers in public schools in Borno State. Chibok, a local government headquarter, has only one secondary school, which also serves people from neighbouring local government areas. Recently, the school, which used to be only for girls, was converted to a mixed school, admitting male students as non-residents.

The United States is alone in helping Nigeria locate more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by Islamists, Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday, despite help on the ground from Britain, France and Israel.

With 80 military personnel sent to neighboring Chad for intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance missions, the United States is the biggest foreign participant in the effort against the militant group Boko Haram.

Washington has also deployed surveillance drones, spy planes and about 30 civilian and military specialists to support Nigeria‘s security forces.

“Boko Haram, Nigeria, only the United States is there offering the assistance to help find those young women,” Kerry said during a dinner at the State Department.

“Other countries, not only aren’t they invited, but they did not even offer.”

Stealing is not corruption, says ICPC Chairman

CONTRARY to the popular thinking that Nigeria is corrupt due to the incessant stealing of public funds by a few persons, the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission has said that stealing is not corruption.

According to the commission, most acts credited to corruption have no relationship with stealing.

The ICPC chairman, Mr. Ekpo Nta, said this when a delegation from the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria visited the commission in Abuja to forge inter-agency partnership against corruption.

Nta noted that most Nigerians, including the educated, did not quite understand what constituted corruption and stressed that it was wrong to classify theft as such.

He said, “Stealing is erroneously reported as corruption. We must go back to what we were taught at school to show that there are educated people in Nigeria. We must address issues as we were taught in school to do.”

The commission’s boss likened the penchant for referring to theft as corruption to the ordinary Nigerian who often called a roadside mechanic an engineer.

People Feared dead in Kano Explosion

A blast hit Kano on Sunday, in a street with many bars and night spots.

Scores were feared dead in the explosion which eyewitnesses quoted by the AFP news agency said was caused by a suspected car bomb.

The blast took place in an area mostly inhabited by Christians from southern Nigeria, the Reuters news agency reports.

The militant Islamist group Boko Haram has carried out attacks in Kano State.

Witnesses quoted by AFP said that the blast could be heard from several miles away and happened on a busy road lined with bars in the predominantly Christian area of Sabon Gari.

The blast comes as the Nigerian authorities continue the search for more than 200 schoolgirls kidnapped by Boko Haram.

Kano police spokesman, Musa Majiya, said it was too early to say if the blast in the Sabon Gari or “foreign quarter” of the North’s biggest city had caused any casualties.

But witness Abdul Dafar, who lives a block away, told Reuters he saw at least four dead bodies after the explosion.

“I heard a loud blast. And there was a lot of smoke. Soldiers came in to cordon off the place and ambulances were rushing people to hospital,” he said.

US Military Officials Arrive Nigeria, Says Abducted Chibok Schoolgirls May Have Been Trafficked

The seven man team will join a team already advising Nigeria on the search, said U.S. Navy Rear Adm. John Kirby, who serves as Pentagon press secretary.U.S. military officials arrived Nigeria on Friday, May 9, 2014 to help in the search for hundreds of girls kidnapped by Islamist militants, the Pentagon said.

Kirby has said that here are no plans to send American combat troops to Nigeria.

About 60 U.S. interagency members have been on the ground since before the kidnappings as part of counterterrorism efforts with Nigeria, a senior U.S. administration official told CNN.

They have been holding meetings, getting resources into the country and making assessments with local authorities.

“Our interagency team is hitting the ground in Nigeria now and they are going to be working … with President Goodluck Jonathan’s government to do everything that we possibly can to return these girls,” Secretary of State John Kerry said Thursday.

Their tasks in the country are to establish a coordination cell to provide intelligence, carry out investigations and offer hostage negotiation expertise.

Bring Back Our Girls – President Jonathan Orders Service Chiefs At High-Level Meeting (DETAILS)

Jonathan gave the directive at the Presidential Villa in Abuja today during a high-level meeting convened to review the security situation in the country.President Goodluck Jonathan has directed the service chiefs to intensify efforts towards rescuing all the abducted schoolgirls of Chibok, Borno State.

The meeting, which lasted for about seven hours, was in the wake of Thursday’s bombing at Nyanya, Abuja and the kidnapping by suspected terrorists, of over 200 girls of Government Secondary School, Chibok, Borno State, on April 15.

Briefing State House journalists after the meeting, Information Minister Labaran Maku said the meeting received updates on the second Nyanya bombing, the ongoing search for the Chibok girls and efforts made so far to deal with related incidents of insecurity and terrorism in the country.

The minister stressed that during the closed door meeting, the president had directed the security agencies to intensify efforts to rescue the abducted girls.

According to him, Jonathan assures Nigerians that “wherever the girls are in the world, we will get them back, apprehend and punish the culprits”.

He said in view of the inconsistent and contradictory information available to the government on the girls’ abduction, the president had set up a fact-finding committee comprising security agencies, civil society, international organisations and other stakeholders.
