Jennifer Lopez spent Valentine's day with the most important woman in her life - her mother.
The 44-year-old was spotted enjoying an afternoon of bonding with Guadalupe Rodriguez on Friday in Calabasas, California.
The star even bought her youthful parent some festive heart shaped balloons before heading out later that evening on a romantic date with her beau Casper Smart.
The sweet duo appeared to share an emotional talk during the outing as they walked arm-in-arm with their heads bowed together.
JLo sported a yellow track suit and white high top trainers as she wore a hooded jumper emblazoned with the word 'Happy' across her chest.
Her mother donned jeans and sandals for the day out along with a loose white long sleeve shirt.
Later that evening the Gigli star posted a video to Instagram of her on a date with her toy boy Casper.
In the clip Jennifer can be seen dancing whilst in the passenger seat of a car as her music video dancer beau is behind the wheel.
It then cuts to the two sharing dinner at Nobu, where Casper plants a tame kiss on JLo's cheek.
But things have not always been easy between Jennifer and her mother.
The star revealed to W magazine last year that when she was 18 she was forced to sleep on a sofa in her dance studio after fighting with her mother Guadalupe Rodriguez over her career choices.
The Grammy Award-winning star says she wanted to pursue a career in show business but her parents did not approve, so she subsequently moved out of home.
'My mom and I butted heads,' she tells the magazine. 'I didn’t want to go to college - I wanted to try dance full-time. So she and I had a break.
'I started sleeping on the sofa in the dance studio. I was homeless, but I told her, "This is what I have to do."'
But it wasn't too long until Jennifer scored her first gig.
'A few months later, I landed a job dancing in Europe,' she says. 'When I got back, I booked 'In Living Color.' I became a Fly Girl and moved to L.A. It all happened in a year.'
