After looking cheerful during a week-long break in Europe, Katy Perry is back in Los Angeles and smiling no more.
On Thursday - just days after it was claimed she dumped boyfriend of two years John Mayer, 36 - the Roar singer was seen with a downcast expression as she was leaving a Thai restaurant with several friends.
At one point it appeared as if the 29-year-old - who was dressed conservatively in a black coat over a plain top and plaid mini skirt - was wiping a tear away as she strolled down a street.

Reps for John and Katy have not returned calls to MailOnline about the alleged split.
As she walked away from the restaurant, Perry was showing a very sad face, even as her friends chuckled easily.
The Firework singer did make a big effort to look put together.
Along with her smart ensemble she had on a Chanel purse around her waist.
And her face was heavily made up with a red pout and lined eyes that matched darkened brows.
It's no wonder the beauty, who dined at vegetarian eatery Jitlada, was down in the dumps.
The same day Page Six reported the Teenage Dream hit maker ended her relationship with the musician after discovering 'text messages on John’s phone from some random girl.'
The nature of the messages has not yet been revealed.
The claims are in direct contrast to previous reports that Katy and John's split was 'mutual' and 'extremely amicable,' and that the couple were planning to stay friends after their break-up.
John, however, has not seemed too concerned about the split as he partied hard at the Blue Note jazz club in Greenwich Village, New York City, on Wednesday night.
John went solo as he caught a show from renowned pianist Chick Corea, Page Six reported.
