And Jessie J well and truly jazzed up a simple, all-black ensemble with a bright injection of colour as she stepped out in New York City on Wednesday.
Looking every inch the vision in violet as she headed out to a number of business meetings in the Big Apple's Soho district, the 25-year-old singer was rocking the boyfriend look in her oversized bright purple pea coat.

Brightening up a low-key ensemble with her fun and funky outerwear, the Do It Like A Dude hitmaker showcased her style credentials to the maximum as she enjoyed a hard day of work.

 

The Londoner kept the rest of her look simple, wrapping up against the chilly winter weather in a black crew-neck jumper, a matching mini, black tights and chunky leather shoe boots.

Jessie toted a black oversized handbag and accessorised with her trademark gold hoop earrings, while completing her chic daytime look with a slick of magenta lipstick that perfectly complemented her eye-catching coat.

The singer appeared to be having a blast during her day out in the Big Apple, telling her Twitter followers how much she loved the city that never sleeps.
She tweeted: 'I love NYC. No sleeping at the label today! Big man meetings! #republicrecords.'
Jessie has been dedicating plenty of time to her American fan-base in recent months, after jetting out to Los Angeles in January to spend time with her American 'Heartbeats', and work on the US version of her album, Alive.

She tweeted on January 10: 'I'm off to the USA to dedicate my time to my heartbeats who have had less of my time than anywhere in the world in the past few years. No gigs, no music released!
'So I am going into the studio to write and finish the US version of "Alive" and hopefully do some small shows and prove to my fans how much I want to be there! Not everything is in my control! But I am making it my goal that my album is released in the USA this year!'
But sadly, the pop princess announced she would no longer be joining Blurred Lines hitmaker Robin Thicke on his US tour, as previously planned.

She wrote: 'I will not be supporting Robin Thicke on his USA tour. My team and I have decided it's best I prioritise recording/studio and promo to finish the album for my US fans and having the opp for a single to be released for you sooner than later.
'I will make it up by making sure you have more of me and my music this year.'
Alive was released in the UK on September 23, peaking in the album charts at number three.
