They split late last month after nine years of marriage but Robin Thicke and Paula Patton are doing their best to remain amicable for the sake of their son Julian, three.
Paula, 38, and Robin, 37, reunited in Vancouver, Canada, on Saturday, for the first time since their marriage disintegrated, and put on a happy front for Julian’s sake.
The family outing came just one day after Robin made a renewed attempt to save his marriage during his concert on Friday at Madison Square Garden and two days before his 37th birthday.
What marriage trouble? Robin Thicke and Paula Patton enjoyed a family day with their son Julian in Vancouver on Saturday, their first time together since their marriage split
However, their reunion did not get off to the best start as Robin was left waiting outside of Paula's rented home for over an hour.
The actress is in Vancouver to shoot the movie Warcraft and did not appear to be present when Robin first arrived.
In video footage obtained by MailOnline, he was seen pacing the outside of the home while smoking and making calls. At one point the Blurred Line singer could be heard calling for someone to come answer the door.
Back together: Robin flew to Vancouver to be reunited with his estranged wife Paula and their son Julian for the first time since their February split
He shouted various names including Paula and Julian before an assistant eventually let him in.
However, when the family reunion finally happened it couldn’t have gone any better.
The couple took Julian to a market and spent hours playing with him.

Putting on a brave face: The couple put their difficulties aside to enjoy some family time with Julian
Patton, Thicke and their son then enjoyed a casual lunch a local steakhouse.
Robin and Paula seemed content and happy didn’t let any of the drama surrounding their breakup sour their fun day out.
Paula was dressed casually in a hat, plaid blouse, jeans and knee high boots while Thicke was casual in a leather jacket, jeans and trainers.
Family comes first: Despite reports that Robin's behaviour with other women caused their split, they appeared perfectly amicable during their family outing
Little Julian was well wrapped up from the Vancouver weather in a puffy jacket.
The trip to Vancouver came just day after he waxed poetic at Friday night's New York concert about the importance of 'forgiveness' and 'doing whatever it takes' to keep your family close.
It was his Madison Square Garden audience who had to deal with the brunt of his desperate pleas on this occasion, although they're far from the first since his marriage breakdown.
In a video captured by TMZ at the concert, Robin was seen sweating and crooning into the microphone in his standard all-black stage getup.
He took a moment between songs and approached his roaring audience, gearing up for yet another of his preach-fests that so far have all screamed 'too little too late'.
It was a rich speech, riddled with interesting suggestions that people should 'forgive' each other 'no matter what'.
The newly separated singer's envy was palpable as he plastered on a grin and opened by pointing out the array of 'beautiful couples' in the audience that night.
Robin spoke about the concept of striving for success and fame, and went on to add that 'once you get there if you don't have friends of family it doesn't mean much, you know?
'One thing I learned is that when you find that special person, when you find that special someone, you've got to do whatever it takes, you know, and never give up,' he said, in a particularly obvious nod to his stunning estranged wife Paula.
'We've got to learn to forgive each other, learn to love each other,' he ranted, clarifying: 'no matter who it is in your family or relationship.'
'Because you're always gonna need your friends and family through the good times and the bad times,' Robin explained.
In February, the couple - who were childhood sweethearts - announced they were separating.
'We will always love each other and be best friends, however, we have mutually decided to separate at this time,' they told People in a joint statement.
The news came on the heels of several reports the crooner flirted behind the back of his actress wife.
Ever since his song Blurred Lines became a breakout hit in July 2013, he has been caught in a series of bad situations.
Soon after Miley Cyrus twerked in his face and rubbed a foam finger on her private parts as she backed into him during the MTV Video Music Awards in August.
That same night he was also caught with his hand on blonde socialite Lana Scolaro's derriere.
The inappropriate image was captured with the help of a mirror behind the married star as he smiled innocently for the camera.
To make matters worse, the socialite come forward after the split, telling TMZ she would like to go for a drink with the singer.
'I'd love to grab a drink with him if he asked,' she told the site.
She added: 'Robin acting like that with me makes me think there were many more. It's a shame because when you have a kid, it's upsetting.'
Also eyebrow raising was his late January flirtation with an exotic beauty inside the Parisian nightclub Club 79.
The singer was spotted embracing the looker and dirty dancing with her, grinning from ear to ear. Paula was nowhere in sight.
Though the longtime couple were seen arm-in-arm on January 25 at a Clive Davis party, just weeks later he was spotted without the Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol knockout when he went shopping with Julian in West Hollywood on February 13.
Though they were man and wife for almost a decade, they met when he was only 14-years-old.
Five years after their 2005 wedding they welcomed Julian.
In 2013 the son of actor Alan Thicke said of Patton, 'We're pretty sure we've loved each other for a few lives.'
High spirits: Although he wasn't wearing his wedding ring when he arrived in Vancouver on Saturday, Robin did sport a huge smile on his face
Getting his family back? Following his concert in New York on Friday, Robin immediately got on a plane to Vancouver on Saturday to see Paula and Julian
