Despite being labelled by some as the best player in the Premier League and worshiped by the Kop, Luis Suarez is not as prolific as former Liverpool striker Fernando Torres.
As the Uruguayan prepares for his 100th Premier League outing in a Liverpool shirt at Southampton this evening, stats from Suarez's first 99 games show that Torres scored more goals at the same stage of his Anfield career.
Torres, who joined Liverpool from Atletico Madrid in 2007, scored 63 goals in his first 99 games for Liverpool at a rate of one every 120.9 minutes.

The Uruguayan also has a worse shot conversion rate than Torres did. Suarez has had 401 shots in a Liverpool shirt and has converted 15.2% of those.
Torres, on the other hand, had 277 shots in his first 99 Liverpool games, scoring with 22.7%.
But Liverpool fans will point to Suarez's all-round impact being greater than the one Torres used to provide.
Despite being an assassin in front of goal when he wore the No 9 shirt for Liverpool, the Spaniard had just 12 assists and created 105 chances.
Suarez, though, has 20 assists to his name and has created 244 chances for his team-mates.
Liverpool sold Torres to Chelsea on transfer deadline day in 2011 for a £50m fee. On that same day, Kenny Dalglish brought Suarez to Anfield from Ajax for £22m.
Since that day, Suarez and Torres have endured contrasting fortunes. After scoring 65 goals in his 102 Premier League games for Liverpool, Torres has just 19 in 101 outings for Chelsea.
Suarez, though, has taken his game to a new level this season. Despite missing the start of the campaign for biting Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic at the end of last season, the 27-year-old is the Premier League's top scorer with 23 goals.
Torres, meanwhile, has hit the back of the net just four times in the Premier League this campaign, as many as Suarez managed in one night against Norwich on December 4.
The closest challenger to Suarez in the golden boot race is his Liverpool team-mate Daniel Sturridge with 18 and then Manchester City's Sergio Aguero on 15.
