The stage was set, the celebs walked the red carpet and the show began.
As the 2014 BAFTA Awards kicked off from London's swanky Royal Opera House, competition for the gongs was fierce, with American Hustle, Gravity and 12 Years a Slave among the notable nominees, along with Cate Blanchett, Julia Roberts and Emma Thompson.
But, there was one film that reigned supreme throughout the night.
Although 12 Years a Slave won big when it took home the Best Film Award and Leading Actor for star Chiwetel Ejiofor, it was Gravity that seemed to own the night, raking in six of the wins from its 11 nominations.
Among its awards, the space drama won for Outstanding British Film and Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron.
