Beyonce Or Rita Ora: Who Wore Karl Lagerfeld's Plaid Jacket Better?

Given Beyonce and Rita Ora’s penchant for up-and-coming designers, and their masterful ability to pull off both quirky streetwear and red carpet glitz, it’s somewhat amazing that they haven’t stepped out wearing the same thing more than twice. The first look they shared was Norma Kamali’s logo-emblazoned motocross outfit, which Bey wore in the video for “Pretty Hurts.” Now they’re both repping Karl Lagerfeld’s tartan biker jacket.
Truth be told, wearing the same thing as Beyonce must be every pop singer’s worst nightmare. But Rita rose to the challenge! Aside from having worn the jacket back in October, and her allegiance to Karl (remember when we speculated that she might be the next face of Chanel?), Rita also has dibs on the jacket solely because she honored its heritage and went full-on punk with the matching pants. Also, her backwards cap, tortoiseshell Stella McCartney sunglasses, and bullet-toned grill really add to the look.
Beyonce, meanwhile, went in a softer direction. Let’s not forget that, despite all of the things Beyonce does better than most, we're not really sure she understands punk. Case in point: The baroque Givenchy gown that she wore to the Met’s punk-themed gala. (Though her “Flawless” look—cutoffs, plaid, and chained Chanel boots—was slightly punk-spirited.) Bey paired her jacket with a pair of front-zip booties and Eugenia Kim’s adorable “Pom Pom Skull Cap” that we really hope comes in a miniature version for Blue Ivy.
So who do you think wore it better: Rita or Beyoncé?
