Triumph Or Too Far? The Biggest Loser Winner Sparks Major Controversy At 105 Pounds! See what Jillian Michaels Has To Say!

rachel frederickson biggest loser too thin controversy
It's a HUGE deal for the contestants of The Biggest Loser to reach goals and get healthy. We love the message of the show, and we love watching the people realize they have it within them to change. But what happens when people see the winner and they think they've gone TOO far? Lost TOO much weight?? That's happening right now, sadly: winner Rachel Frederickson, a 24-year-old voiceover artist, has been met with criticism for losing too much weight. Some even said her body reveal was shocking! Starting the show at 260 pounds, Rachel wanted to lose the weight just as much as she wanted that $250k prize. So it's no surprise she worked hard. She ended up dropping 155 pounds, and she now weighs 105. Is that too much? Well, let's take into account that she lost almost 60% of her body weight in just months. 59.2%, exactly. Let's also say that for a 5'4" frame, that weight is actually considered LOWER than a healthy status. But does she deserve all this negative attention for doing
what a show calls for? For playing the game? We're not so sure! People were lighting up Twitter with responses like: @maseorama: "I know it's the biggest loser, but Rachel does NOT look healthy. She looked better @ the end of last episode" @ky_ry23: "#BLFinale rachel went too far. horrible message being sent by her and the biggest loser show." We're just glad that kind of weight shaming wasn't all she was getting — some even wished her well and said she as an inspiration! Here's what Rachel said after winning, which has a lack of direct response to the haters: "I'm at the maintenance point now so I need to find some balance and make sure I work out and I eat healthy and make good choices 90 percent of the time. I'm not sure (I'll maintain this weight), but I plan to try new exercises and just continue on this path and see where that takes me." Now THAT is a healthy outlook! Also making the rounds is the look on some of the trainers' faces when Rachel was revealed live — including Jillian Michaels, who even mouthed 'oh my god' at one point. Jillian had this to say: We're sure she's fielding a LOT of questions right now! We would NEVER want Rachel to feel bad for her incredible journey to learning new & healthy knowledge, and the skills to stay in shape. What she has done has been unbelievable, and we really do hope those pounds lost to win the game are not the same as the pounds she lost to better her life! Although, we can't deny that Bob and Jillian were quite shocked when they saw her -
