Who needs an award? Lupita Nyong'o makes her bag her main accessory as stars pose for fun snaps in BAFTA selfie booth

#askaroundnow

She lost out on not just one but two awards after American Hustle’s Jennifer Lawrence received the Best Supporting Actress award and Will Poulter took home the hotly-contested Rising Star Award.
But that wasn’t going to stop Lupita Nyong'o from enjoying herself and rather than lamenting her lack of BAFTA she posed up in the selfie booth with her handbag.
The 30-year-old, who was up for her break-out role in 12 Years A Slave, made the most of the event as did a whole host of other stars who couldn't resist getting a snap or two of themselves.

Showing what a good sport she is Lupita looked radiant as she stopped by the booth, raising her small black bag beneath her chin in an amusing pose.

Following the ceremony she headed to the 12 Years A Slave party at the London Edition Hotel, alongside the rest of the cast and crew, who had enjoyed a hugely successful evening.
While Lupita looked positively ravishing thanks to her impressive emerald green silk fishtail-hem gown by Christian Dior, it wasn’t without its problems.

Helping a hand: A gentleman was seen helping the actress put her long train in the car

As she left the party she struggled to get all of her long train in the taxi and she was seen carefully trying to stuff all the fabric in.
Earlier in the evening she had been joined by her mother Dorothy, who was there to support her when she unfortunately missed out on any awards.
Meanwhile Lupita of course wasn’t the only star to stop by the selfie booth at the event and it saw a whole range of famous faces throughout the course of the evening.

Big moment: Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron celebrated with two of the awards he picked up on the night

Man of the evening Tinie Tempah, who delighted the crowd and viewers by giving Prince William a high-five, looked in very good spirits as he stopped to pose.
Singer Lily Allen paid a visit and despite her mother Allison Owen missing out on a producing award for the film Saving Mr Banks, she too looked happy, sticking out her tongue slightly as she posed.
Those who did win awards made sure they stopped by, including Rising Star Will Poulter, Barkhad Abdi and Cate Blanchett.

Proud: Barkhad Abdi held on to his award he picked up for Supporting Actor in Captain Philips

Gravity director Alfonso Cuaron clearly enjoyed posing with his prizes and lifted one of the awards over his tilted head.
DJ Fearne Cotton couldn’t resist taking a cheeky snap and she was joined by Dermot O’Leary who looked at her while she pulled a funny face and flashed the peace sign.
Samantha Barks also flashed the peace sign as she posed in the booth, without her other half Richard Fleeshman – who she made her red carpet debut with earlier in the evening.
Hanging out: Rita Ora cosied up with Naomi Campbell at one of the parties
